By Sea:
Check out a good marine navigational map for good landmarks and navigation aids by water. Care should be taken throughout the Florida Keys waterways due to shallow waters and frequent coral bottoms. Mooring at our house has over 4 feet of depth at low tide with full docking facilities. The canal entrance (24°42.298N, 81°21.082W) is a few of hundred feet from our house (24°42.242N, 81°21.223W).
Traveling from the Gulf side, enter Big Spanish Channel at 24°50.552N, 81°25.775W, keeping the green marker #57 to starboard. Proceed south in Big Spanish Channel and locate No Name Key and Big Pine Key. Cross between No Name Key and Porpoise Island through navigable cut keeping green marker on port at 24°42.835N, 81°20.599W. Pay attention to maps for water depths. Big Pine Key and our canal entrance is directly ahead.
Traveling from the Atlantic side, enter Big Spanish Channel at 24°39.306N, 81°17.263W. Proceed north in Big Spanish Channel with Big Pine Key to your west. Proceed north after passing the US1 Bridge (good clearance) along the west and north of No Name Key. Follow the directions above to our canal.
As an alternative from the Atlantic, enter Bogie Channel along the East side of Big Pine Key. You’ll need to pass under the US1 and No Name Key Bridges as you proceed north to our canal. The clearances under the US1 Bridge and No Name Key Bridge may be restrictive for larger boats.
